Susan Linsky, Managing Principal of Linsky Group, LLC has lived and worked in DC since 1978. Ms. Linsky has earned the respect of top DC elected and government officials, non-profits, and private sector firms for “getting things done” whether it be for a developer, government employer, or a nonprofit board. Ms. Linsky has a proven record of getting community and government support for projects that have transformed DC over the past 20 years.

Ms. Linsky joined Roadside Development in 2006 after serving 15 years in the District of Columbia government. Prior to joining Roadside, Ms. Linsky was Special Assistant to the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development (DMPED). In that role, Ms. Linsky played key roles in transforming several downtown DC sites into vibrant retail, residential and tourist attractions. She managed the design and programming of the interim use for the old convention center site that generated excitement and revenues until construction started on CityCenter DC. 

Ms. Linsky was a key member of the DC government’s team that worked to bring baseball back to DC. She led the District’s community relations and marketing/public relations campaign for that effort. Ms. Linsky worked with DC Council and community groups to achieve passage of baseball legislation ultimately leading to the transformation of the Nationals Park neighborhood and Anacostia River waterfront.

Prior to joining DMPED, she was Vice President for Government Relations for the DC Chamber of Commerce where she successfully lobbied the DC Council for legislation to improve DC’s business environment. Before joining the DC Chamber, Ms. Linsky served as Chief of Staff to Ward 3 Councilmember James Nathanson for eight years after successfully managing his highly competitive first campaign.

At Roadside, Ms. Linsky has been Project Director for community engagement for the $330 million dollar City Market at O project, a major residential/retail/hotel that has transformed the Shaw Community. Working with many community groups, the DC Council and DMPED for over seven years, she built broad, enthusiastic public support key to this project’s success. Her efforts resulted in the project procuring a $37M TIF and Grant for CityMarket at O and unanimous support for the Historic Preservation, PUD, and zoning approvals.

Ms. Linsky is a longtime civic and political leader. She served as President for the Home and School Associations of both Murch Elementary and School Without Walls High School. She has served as the Vice Chair of the Avalon Theatre Project Board, and Secretary of the Board of Shaw Main Streets and now serves on the board of Iona Senior Services and is a member of Leadership Washington Class of 1999. Ms. Linsky is a University of Texas Austin graduate (English/Spanish), and is fluent in Spanish. She has a Masters in Social Work Planning and Administration from the University of Houston.
